ATEX

ATEX units are designed to hold potentially explosive or hazardous substances within the chill chain.

Dawsongroup temperature control solutions (DGTCS) ATEX units are built to an agreed specification and delivered ready to use with full documentation and certification. Our units cover a number of ATEX zones and ignition classes, and qualify as LPCB ‘Red Book’ listed.

Working together

AstraZeneca was in need of a temporary solution to their chill chain that was ATEX rated. As there was nothing on the market at the time, they approached DGTCS to see how both companies could work together on this unique requirement, all in aid to safe-guard patient safety.

Through Research and Development both companies innovated the first of its kind ATEX rated unit. Through rigorous testing the unit adhered to the pharmaceutical regulations, deeming it GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliable.

Peter Greer, Project Manager at AstraZeneca, explained how “the reliability of the unit is second to none, during the months we’ve had the unit my phone has never rung. This is especially important in the Pharmaceutical industry with the high value products we have to store”.
