Following decades of supplying blasts to satisfied customers, we understand airflow, the effects of packaging, loading, how to avoid freezer burn, moisture on film, the importance of cycle times, process flow for productivity, crust freezing, controlled freezing for slicing & dicing and more.
Our blast freezers are only supplied following a heat load calculation so having considered the product type, volume, temperature on entry, required cycle time and temperature required. Our key aim is to understand exactly ‘what you want’ to ensure you’re left with the perfect solution which is why DGTCS actively encourages product trials for Blast applications.
Product trials are typically conducted at Sutton-in-Ashfield where we have the selected unit made ready and running at the required temperature for a pre-agreed date and time. The customer will arrange for the product to be delivered to DGTCS in the same manner and configuration as they intend to present the product at their own premises (i.e. same packaging and racking or pallets to be used). A member of the Technical Team will be present at the time of the test and full details and data will be presented to the customer post trial.”
